This is the same free checker that runs on the project site, mirrored on Hugging Face Spaces. It runs entirely in your browser and loads its data from the public GitHub repo — nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Is a confusingly-similar trademark about to register?

Type your brand name. This page checks it against every US trademark published for opposition or registered in the last ~4 months using edit-distance + phonetic + rare-shared-word matching. It is the same open-source matcher we benchmark publicly: 36 of 36 real USPTO §2(d) confusable pairs caught, and 0 false positives on 20 unrelated names. The published table has 65 rows in three groups — 36 must-flag pairs (36/36 caught) + 9 borderline pairs where either outcome is acceptable (6/9 flagged, informational) + 20 negative controls (0/20 flagged) — and is regenerated on every refresh. Free, no login, runs entirely in your browser.

Nothing you type leaves your browser — the index is downloaded to you. Source: USPTO Trademark Official Gazette, a new issue every Tuesday.

Next Tuesday's Gazette can carry a mark like yours — and you get 30 days to oppose it.

This page only sees the Gazette through the latest issue. TM Watch runs this exact check for your mark against every new Gazette issue, every Tuesday, for a year and posts any hit to your private alert page and its RSS feed the same day the issue publishes — while the 30-day opposition window is still open. Delivery today is that page and its feed (plus optional GitHub emails); we do not send email ourselves yet — paste the feed into a free RSS-to-email forwarder such as Blogtrottr and hits reach your inbox the same day.

$29 for one mark, 12 months — one-time payment, no auto-renewal

Priced below every single-mark watch we could verify: Markify watches a US mark for $39/yr; Hawthorn Law covers up to five marks for $99/yr, which beats us from mark 4 onward (prices read off their own pages, dated on the compare page). See the dated side-by-side — it still says plainly who to buy instead of us, and why.

Watch my mark every Tuesday — $29/yr Or watch it free for 30 days

The free watch is the same matcher, the same private alert page and RSS feed, one mark, 30 days — no card, nothing renews. Keep it if it earns its keep.

What an alert looks like

Real alert generated for the watched mark STELLANITE against the 2026-09-01 Gazette issue (trimmed). Serials, owners and dates are exactly as the USPTO published them. Don't take our word for it: every serial below is a link to that application's own record on the USPTO's TSDR — click one and compare the mark, owner and publication date to this table. (Both were re-checked against TSDR on 2026-09-03.)

A mark published for opposition can be opposed — or an extension of time to oppose requested — for 30 days from its Gazette date. Miss the window and your only remaining route is a cancellation proceeding after it registers, which is slower and costlier. A weekly check on the day the issue lands is the whole point of a watch.

Free data and browsing — no purchase

Browse newly published and registered marks by international class (45 pages, rebuilt after every Tuesday issue), or take the underlying records as free weekly CSVs — one immutable file per Gazette issue, public domain, no login, also mirrored on Hugging Face. This checker also runs as a Hugging Face Space if you prefer it there. The paid product is the ongoing watch, never access to the data.

Just got published, or worried someone else did? What happens in the 30-day opposition window — the timeline, the extension deadlines and the current TTAB fees, in plain English.

Would rather do it yourself? Good — here is the free weekly routine, step by step, with the measured volume you would be reading each week and an honest account of where the do-it-yourself version breaks down. Wondering what the paid options charge? Here are the published prices, cheapest first, with the date each was read.

Shopping around? Trademark watch services compared — real prices for Markify, TMReady, Hawthorn Law and the free USPTO search, each dated to the day we checked it, plus what every one of them (including us) does badly.

How it works, refunds, contact

Try it free first. The free 30-day watch costs nothing and asks for no card: give one mark and an email, and you get the same private alert page and RSS feed for 30 days, updated after every Tuesday Gazette issue. It stops on its own after 30 days — the page stays online and shows you how to continue.

Buying. Pay $29 on Gumroad and enter the exact text of your mark. No account of any kind is needed: within one refresh cycle (≤24h) you get a private alert page with its own RSS feed — open alerts/, type your mark, the email you paid with and the passphrase you chose in the checkout box, and your browser computes the unlisted address locally (SHA-256 of those three, so nobody who knows only your trademark and your email can open your page; the page itself shows only your mark and public USPTO records — never your name, email or passphrase — because this site is served from a public repository). Every Tuesday issue is matched against your mark and any hits appear on that page (subscribe to its feed in any reader to be notified; quiet weeks are logged as "checked"). The checkout also has an optional GitHub username field: leave it blank unless you want the private GitHub repository as a second copy of the alerts (then you are invited within 24h and can click "Watch" for GitHub emails). We do not send email ourselves yet: to get hits in your inbox, paste your page's feed.xml address into a free RSS-to-email forwarder such as Blogtrottr ("as soon as possible" delivery) — about a minute, and it works the same day. If we add our own email sending later, existing buyers get it at no charge.

What is watched. Every word mark in the two Gazette sections that matter: applications published for opposition (~10,000/week) and registrations issued. Design-only marks (logos without words) are out of scope. Matching = edit distance + phonetic + variant forms + a rare-shared-word rule (a distinctive word both marks share that is uncommon across the ~200k-mark corpus, e.g. VEUVE, KODIAK — common words like PACIFIC or DENTAL never trigger it); the matcher and its 45-pair §2(d) benchmark are open source, so you can verify exactly what it will and will not catch.

Term. 12 months from purchase, one mark, no auto-renewal: your card is charged once, and when the year ends the watch simply stops — nothing is billed again. Two weeks before expiry you get a reminder alert with a link to buy another year if you want it. Several marks: buy once per mark (multi-mark bundles coming; ask).

Refunds. Full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions — request it through Gumroad.

Contact. Open an issue on the repo (no account needed to read; a free GitHub account to post) or reply to your Gumroad receipt — both reach the operator directly.
